Dean Bernardo’s recent international trip included his hometown of Toronto, Canada, as well as three Latin American cities: São Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Santiago, Chile. Because of the pandemic, it was Dean Bernardo’s first trip as dean to South America and the first such trip by any UCLA Anderson dean since 2017.

As part of the school’s broader Worldwide Welcome Weeks, Dean Bernardo met with nearly 100 alumni across the four cities to deliver updates on the school’s strategic plan and to garner regional alumni support for recruitment of global students. These in-person meetings ensure the engagement of alumni around the world while providing a sense of Anderson community for graduates living thousands of miles from campus.

The UCLA Anderson Alumni Network hosts WWW every fall to welcome the most recent graduates to their local alumni chapter, affinity and/or industry group. In 2022, UCLA Anderson alumni chapters hosted 23 WWW events in 18 cities and seven countries. The global events offer unique opportunities for connections and access to business leaders, faculty and alumni.

This year’s programming cut across a broad range of topics from private equity to storytelling, from happiness to environmental sustainability, and included such speakers as Dean Bernardo and Professors Magali Delmas, Mark Garmaise, Cassie Holmes, Jason Hsu (Ph.D. ’05) and Terry Kramer.
