Hear to Include is a video series produced by a UCLA Anderson student startup, Unified Stories. The purpose is simple: to provide a forum to hear real student perspectives so we may have clearer understanding of who these students are and what they represent. Hearing is the first step toward inclusion.
In partnership with UCLA Anderson and both Anderson’s Black Business Students Association (@bbsa_uclaanderson) & OUT@Anderson (@outatanderson) clubs
@unified_stories invites you to join in hearing powerful stories from of several of UCLA Anderson students.
HEAR TO INCLUDE:
“Given my blackness, I think that was something that was always in the back of my mind and something that I had to think about every time I stepped into one of those coffee chats and being hesitant and worried about how I would be perceived.”
HEAR TO INCLUDE:
“I definitely do feel that minorities are judged more harshly by the way they present themselves.”
HEAR TO INCLUDE:
“We have different problems, we have different challenges to overcome.”
HEAR TO INCLUDE:
“I want to tell you about a time I experienced racism for just walking down the sidewalk.”
HEAR TO INCLUDE:
“That's where allyship really begins, in the ability to ask questions and be curious and open to understanding what it means to be a good ally.”
