This year's competition is hosted by Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Teams must be comprised of at least one JD student and one MBA student and the teams will compete for a total of $10,000 in prizes. (A JD/MBA student will count as either.) Winners are selected by a panel of senior executives and industry professionals who are leading and shaping the future of the sports industry.

- Each team (3-5 students total) must be comprised of at least one current MBA and one current JD student from the same university. JD/MBA students can fulfill the role of either an MBA or JD, as long as he/she has completed at least one year of academics in the respective field.
- Team members must come from both the business and law school of the same college/university. If a university has only one of the two graduate schools, the interested team may recruit from another local college with the Competition Organizer’s prior approval. However, this rule applies only for schools that do not have both a law school and a graduate business school.
