Southern California Attractions

Santa Monica Pier

Revisit days gone by at a mini-amusement park perched over the water. With a roller coaster, a ferris wheel and plenty of kitschy booths, this is old-fashioned fun.

From Santa Monica to Redondo and beyond, the beaches are a great place to pick up a game of volleyball, do some surfing, enjoy people watching or just watch the sun set into the ocean.

Tinseltown! The entertainment capital of the world offers opportunities to see TV shows filmed live, attend red carpet events, watch advance screenings of movies and engage in entertainment industry networking events. And you're just sightseeing, the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood sign are a short ride away.

Coachella and FYF Fest

These two music festivals are popular with our students and the rest of the region. Massive multiday events with an absolute who’s-who of music, they bring students together for some of the best times of their lives.

Downtown L.A.

No longer just a business district, this is where some of the world’s best museums, architecture, concert venues and cuisine reside. From a glass sliding board 70 floors above the city to the historic Grand Central Market, a foodie hub, DTLA makes you feel even more alive.

Whether art or natural history or cars, a world-class source of education and culture awaits.

Farmers Markets

They’re everywhere in the city. This is the freshest way to experience California’s bounty.

Amusement Parks

Students can take advantage of UCLA discounts for some of the world’s premiere theme parks, including Disneyland, Universal Studios, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott’s Berry Farm and more.

There are a large number of movie theaters near UCLA, and Westwood has, historically, hosted film premieres at the Village Theater. Anyone is welcome to stand to the side and star gaze as celebrities arrive in their limousines!
