The Alliance for Latinx Management at Anderson (ALMA)

The Alliance for Latinx Management at Anderson (ALMA) seeks to promote the underrepresented minority experience of Latinx individuals in management. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive and collaborative space to promote fellowship and professional development while celebrating American Latinx culture.

Events

In addition to social events throughout the year, ALMA hosts the following:

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
In September and October, we partner with the Latin American Business Association to celebrate Latino culture and educate the community about Hispanic Heritage Month.

ALMA FIRESIDE CHATS
Throughout the year, we partner with other identity clubs to discuss current topics within the national discourse and intersectionality.

LOS ANGELES EXCURSIONS
The club organizes outings to the greater Los Angeles area to celebrate Latinx culture through food, drinks, music and dance.

ALUMNI MIXERS
These events build and strengthen the connections between current students and the Latino alumni in the greater Los Angeles community.

FACULTY LUNCHES
ALMA gives students opportunities to connect with Latino faculty. These lunches provide a forum for students to learn the personal journeys of Latino faculty, discuss research and receive advice on how to navigate academics.

CALIFORNIA BUSINESS SCHOOL MEETUP
Once a year, the various business schools in California (UC Berkeley, USC, Stanford, etc.) converge for a weekend to network, identify strategies to improve enrolled Latino student numbers and discuss how to improve the overall welfare of our organizations and our culture within our respective schools.
