Recruit An MFE

With strong quantitative skills in place,
Anderson MFEs hit the ground running

A Rigorous and Well-Balanced Curriculum

Our talented MFE students learn from our top-rated finance faculty to integrate mathematical, statistical and computer programming tools with finance theory application. Unlike many MFE programs, the UCLA Anderson MFE curriculum is solidly based on the business school paradigm of merging theory and principle with up-to-the-minute business practice. By combining mathematical and statistical tools with finance theory, we equip our students with the tools necessary to succeed as "quants."

A Diverse Range of Skills and Backgrounds

Our students have an average of two years of professional experience prior to starting the MFE program and come from a diverse range of academic backgrounds, including engineering, finance/economics, mathematics, computer science and business administration. Once they attain the practical and theoretical tools through the MFE program, our graduates are ready to hit the ground running in areas including risk management, asset management, derivatives trading, corporate finance, data science and analytics, and FinTech.

On-Campus Information Sessions:
Information sessions are a great way to educate our MFE students about your organization's products and services, as well as the various career paths available within your company. These sessions take place year-round, and all logistics can be arranged by our Career Support team. Please email us at mfecareers@anderson.ucla.edu for more information.

Industry Seminars and Panels: We invite members of the business community to host seminars and participate as panelists on topics related to the practice of financial engineering. Financial institution seminars help our students keep abreast of industry and career trends, and are great tools for organizations to promote their products and/or showcase cutting-edge research. Please email us at mfecareers@anderson.ucla.edu for more information.

Internship Program:
Hiring one of our students for an internship is a great way to tap into our talent pool for your short-term hiring needs as well as assess long-term potential with your company. Our students are available for internships from mid-June to mid-September, and will have completed three-fourths of their coursework by the time they start their internships. Internships may be in the following areas: model construction, quantitative research, asset management, data analytics and risk analysis. Please email us at mfecareers@anderson.ucla.edu for more information.

Interview Scheduling and Facilities:
We can work with you to schedule either on-campus or off-campus interviews for both internships and full-time positions. If you would like interviews to be held on campus, we can book facilities for you at UCLA Anderson and help you create a schedule that will accommodate your availability as well as our students' class schedules. Please email us at mfecareers@anderson.ucla.edu for more information.

Other Recruitment Events

The MFE program hosts a variety of recruitment events throughout the year, including our annual New York Wall Street Orientation Trip and San Francisco Orientation Trip, during which select companies give presentations and hold networking events. In addition, we host a Quant Industry Open House on campus, which provides companies the opportunity to showcase openings and to have a dialogue with graduate students from nationally recognized programs in mathematics, economics and financial engineering. Please email us at mfecareers@anderson.ucla.edu for more information.
