This special evening will feature a dynamic conversation on Navigating the Changing Restaurant Landscape, an exclusive beer sampling from Fullerton's Bootlegger's Brewery and delicious bites from ParkStone.

Restaurant and hotel founder Allan Gantes and his sister Jacqueline Gantes '15 will share how they have grown their family's restaurant business amidst the new realities facing today's changing dining landscape. Learn what it's like to operate various restaurant and hotel franchises, expand into new real estate markets and launch new restaurant concepts. ParkStone Urban Kitchen + Taps in Newport Beach is the third location of a newly launched concept restaurant known for great food, beer (over 50 on tap!) and wine.

About Allan Gantes

Allan Gantes

It all started at the age of 10 when Allan found himself working summer days at Burger King. "I was barely tall enough to see over the counter!" He and his siblings grew up working in the daily operations of the family's restaurants learning the business firsthand. While attending Cornell's School of Hotel Administration, Allan worked for Hilton Hotels and founded a hotel management company. Upon graduation, Allan fully immersed himself in restaurant operations and real estate development. Allan has opened over 50 ground-up construction projects in the restaurant, retail, and hotel sectors. In 2008 through 2011, Allan became a franchisee and franchise principal of several national brands including Carino’s Italian, Famous Dave’s BBQ, On the Border, and Hilton Hotels Corporation. In 2012, the ParkStone Wood Kitchen + Taps brand launched, serving premium American food with a focus on wood cooking and craft beverages.

About Jacqueline Bridgford Gantes ('15)

Jacqueline Bridgford Gantes ('15)Upon graduation from Yale in 2010, Jacqueline spent 3+ years developing marketing strategies for Synergy Pacific Management LLC, a premiere hospitality management company. In 2013, she pursued her MBA at UCLA Anderson, interned at adidas in product marketing for the summer and graduated in 2015. She currently works full time for Experian in its MBA Leadership Rotational Program. Jacqueline is still involved in her family's businesses providing marketing consulting work and insight into the ever-changing world of marketing in the restaurant business.
