Diego Reyes ('05) Brings Help Where It's Needed
In 2018, Diego Reyes ('05) and Gabe Weinert ('05) took the entrepreneurial leap and started Alter Mile Group, a real asset investment manager focused on investing in urban markets. Its primary focus is the re-urbanization of Reyes' hometown of Detroit, but when the pandemic hit it started to look at university-correlated real estate assets in a few different markets. For Reyes, this signaled the potential erosion of funding to universities at large. He responded by donating to the One Anderson Student Relief Fund in support of fellowships for the incoming class of 2022 and technology upgrades to enable remote learning and a pivot in programming. Having benefited from a community that launched his real-estate career and cultivated life-long connections, Reyes wants to ensure that current students receive a world-class Anderson experience. Crisis Response Corps Matches Organizations in Need with MBA Consultants
In response to financial constraints created by the pandemic, a handful of companies either rescinded offers or decided to forgo hiring MBA interns this past spring. Anderson students suddenly found themselves unable to secure the summer internships they had hoped would boost their resumes. At the same time the demand for the work of non-profits and social enterprises also grew. So, Joe Roohan ('21) and Charles Moran ('21) founded Crisis Response Corps with the goal of matching organizations in need with MBA students eager to put their coursework theory into practice for the greater good.
