Professors Sherie and Don Morrison Recognized with UCLA Medal

In a ceremony on June 11, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block presented Sherie and Don Morrison with the UCLA Medal—the highest honor bestowed by UCLA—to recognize careers that have been dedicated to finding solutions for complex issues. Holding more than 29 patents, Sherie Morrison is a UCLA distinguished research professor of microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics, who has advanced the understanding of how antibodies function and how we can use them to treat disease. UCLA Anderson’s emeritus professor of marketing Don Morrison has published more than 90 articles on marketing research and applied statistics, taught doctoral students and mentored countless student athletes as UCLA’s faculty athletic representative. Although their academic interests and scientific achievements couldn’t be any different, the Morrisons share a common desire to benefit others and a passion to serve. Their impact have also been furthered through their philanthropic efforts, including the support of three endowed chairs in the division of life sciences and the establishment of the Morrison Family Center for Marketing Studies and Data Analytics at UCLA Anderson.
