Lisa Matichak ('89)
Mountain View's Accidental Mayor Lisa Matichak ('89)
When Lisa Matichak ('89) saw a property once deemed "undevelopable" about to be developed near her home, she formed a neighborhood association and lobbied the city council. That led the 30 year Silicon Valley veteran to be appointed to the local planning commission and prompted her run for city council. Today, Lisa is Mayor Matichak, serving as the chairman of the board of Mountain View, CA—home to Google and various tech companies small and large. Often having to navigate the complicated relationship between city government and the tech industry, Lisa believes her business career and education sets her apart from many who get into local government. Read more about Lisa's four main goals for Mountain View.
