Entertainment Executive Peter Guber Honored with UCLA Medal

Peter Guber, Chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group, was presented with the UCLA medal on December 4 at UCLA Chancellor Gene Block’s on-campus home. The highest honor bestowed upon an individual by the university for extraordinary accomplishment, the UCLA Medal has been awarded to luminaries such as Kareem Abdul-Jabaar (B.A. '69), BlackRock CEO Larry Fink (B.A. '74, MBA '76) and civil rights icon U.S. Rep. John Lewis. Under Mandalay Entertainment Group, Guber is an owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Golden State Warriors and e-sports franchise Team Liquid.

A longtime UCLA teacher, Guber currently serves as a founding member and chair of the board of advisors for the UCLA Anderson Center for Management of Enterprise in Media, Entertainment and Sports (MEMES), co-teaches a leadership course with Dean Judy Olian, in addition to teaching courses at the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. “Peter is as passionate about his teaching as he is every other aspect of his career,” Chancellor Block said. “It’s clear that he values the opportunity to contribute and prepare the next generation for success, whether it’s in entertainment, sports or any number of other industries.” Read more.
