Amir Heshmatpour Joins Price Center Board of Advisors

Founder and managing director of AFH Holding & Advisory LLC

LOS ANGELES -- Greg Craig ('89), chairman of the Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at UCLA Anderson School of Management and founder and chief executive officer of Inupiat Energy Marketing LLC, announced that Amir Heshmatpour has been appointed to the Price Center's Board of Advisors.

Heshmatpour is the founder and managing director of AFH Holding & Advisory LLC, a Beverly Hills-based single member family office and advisory firm that partners with emerging growth companies in the U.S. and abroad to help facilitate growth potential through traditional and alternative financing options. The firm currently works with an array of both public and private companies in a variety of sectors throughout the world.

Prior to founding AFH, Heshmatpour was chairman and chief executive officer of Metrophone Telecommunications, Inc, where he spearheaded the firm's growth, leading it through 17 acquisitions and growing the business to more than $100 million in revenue.  Metrophone was twice named among the 100 fastest growing companies in the Northwest and by 2003, the company operated in 34 states and was ranked among the top 10 public service providers in the U.S.

Among his other interests, Amir currently serves on the board of the California Council on Economic Education, an organization promoting financial and economic literacy. He is also involved in Holding Hands Pediatric Therapy & Diagnostics, an organization founded by his family that serves children with special needs and their families. Heshmatpour has also served as a board member of "Young Life," a teen-mentoring organization. Heshmatpour attended Pennsylvania State University, and in 2010 he completed the UCLA Anderson Director Education & Certification Program.

"We are honored to have Amir join us as a member of the Board of Advisors amidst the explosive growth of entrepreneurial activity in Los Angeles, and at a time when UCLA is expanding its entrepreneurial ecosystem," said Alfred E. Osborne, Jr., founder and faculty director of the Price Center.

Chairman Craig added, "Amir is a proven entrepreneur who will be a wonderful resource for both Anderson students and his fellow board members.  We welcome Amir and his family to the UCLA Anderson community."
