LOS ANGELES — Angela Gibson, director, external affairs, SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE: SBC), presented Alfred E. Osborne, Jr., Ph.D., director, Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, with a check for $40,000 for sponsorship of the Management Development for Entrepreneurs Program. It is the second of three installments of their $120,000 grant to the MDE Program at Anderson. The SBC Corporation has been a contributor to MDE since the program's inception in 1990.

Their generosity and commitment has allowed us to help hundreds of entrepreneurs achieve their goals and build successful businesses. We value our relationship with SBC and sincerely appreciate their support," said Osborne, who is also an associate professor of global economics and management at The Anderson School.

The Management Development for Entrepreneurs (MDE) Program, offered by the Harold Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at The Anderson School at UCLA, is a premiere educational opportunity that enables entrepreneurs to develop essential management skills and strengthen their ability to build and manage effective and profitable organizations. MDE provides participants with a varied curriculum of lectures, case discussions, applied workshops, and business improvement consultation to help them develop management tools to confront issues facing today's growing enterprises.

The MDE Program is offered twice a year - at The Anderson School during the fall and in the Bay Area during the spring. Participants receive instruction in the latest theory and practice in such areas as strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and management. In addition to a varied curriculum of lectures, case discussions and applied workshops, participants work closely with faculty to address the challenges facing today's growing enterprises.
