Outline of Program Modules

Module 1 (Pre-Program, Off-Campus)

  • Pre-program leadership assessment
  • Project start: Identify the challenges facing your business or assess the challenges associated with a new business idea you are looking to pursue. Develop a business case for why you should continue to invest in your venture / idea
  • Complete the online foundation modules
  • Complete the pre-reading assignments for upcoming in-class module

Module 2 (On-Campus, UCLA)

  • Strategy, Operations, and Control, Accounting, Leadership Styles, Leadership Communications – Understand key frameworks and approaches for analyzing industries, opportunities, and your own business. Develop the initial plan for addressing these opportunities.
  • Birkman Assessment Debrief and one-on-one coaching – Assess your leadership style and your organization’s ability to implement your plan

Module 3 (Off-Campus)

  • Apply the learning from previous modules at work
  • Catalogue the successes, challenges, and failures as well as your approach while working on your chosen project in driving your business/idea
  • Conduct analysis on your industry, sector, business, and country and figure out growth options for your organization
  • Develop a portfolio view of your current investments
  • Maintain your leadership Journal and focus on improving your leadership style with feedback from peers etc.
  • Engage with UCLA faculty and peers through live-online webinars and leadership check-ins
  • Complete the Entrepreneurship Online Modules
  • Complete the pre-reading assignments for upcoming in-class module

Module 4 (On-Campus, UCLA)

  • Marketing, Sales, Negotiations, Persuasion, and Influence, Digital Technologies, Data Analytics, Leadership of Talent, Managing People, Entrepreneurship – Analyze and understand mechanisms to drive profitable growth and achieve transformational change in your business and industry by pursuing existing and new opportunities
  • Plan for the leadership, governance mechanisms and organizational capabilities required to drive further growth for your business

Module 5 (Off-Campus)

  • Apply the learning from previous modules at work in areas such as data analytics, digital technologies, marketing and sales
  • Catalogue the successes, challenges, and failures along with your approach while working on your chosen project in driving your business/idea
  • Maintain your leadership journal and assess your personal motivations and goals in pushing your business forward and executing the chosen strategy
  • Engage with UCLA faculty and peers through live-online webinars and leadership check-ins
  • Complete the Globalization Online Modules
  • Complete the pre-reading assignments for upcoming in-class module

Module 6 (On-Campus, UCLA)

  • Corporate Finance, Fund Raising (VC/PE), M&A and Alliances, Innovation, Disruption, Global Markets and Opportunities, Portfolio Management, Change Management, Crisis Management – Deepen your understanding of various levers to power growth and expand your business across geographies as well as balancing competing priorities and resource allocation
  • Focus on finalizing the business plan to drive your organization forward and at the same time, ensure that you are aligning the priorities with your own personal and professional goals

It uses a proven and highly effective blend of in-class and live online and online self-paced learning to ensure that you obtain maximum value from the experience. You use the time between in-class modules to experiment with new ideas and approaches to your work. The mainstay of UCLA Anderson’s high-quality management education programs is its esteemed, international faculty. Each year, UCLA Anderson faculty members publish papers in leading scholarly journals, receive recognition for research excellence, provide leadership in and beyond UCLA, and serve as inspirational teachers and mentors.

The professors who teach in the UCLA OMP are chosen from UCLA Anderson’s distinguished faculty for their proven facility in teaching participants with high levels of business experience.

UCLA Anderson OMP follows a rolling admission (first come, first serve) process and participant applications are evaluated as soon as they are received. The step-by-step process is outlined below.

Keep a resume in word or PDF format ready to be submitted (via upload) through upload tab in the online application form.

References

We require details of two professional references who are ready to discuss your candidacy with us in great detail.

Essay

Two essays are required:

  • Please describe the personal objectives that you hope to achieve through OMP, and how they relate to the long-term goals of your organization.
  • Please describe your company in terms of product lines or services and your responsibilities.

Document Submission

Applicants are required to submit academic documents (degrees, diplomas and transcripts).

Interview

An interview – either in person or over the telephone – will be required of all shortlisted candidates prior to acceptance into the program.

Program Fee Program Fee

The program fee for the UCLA Owners Management Program is USD 45,000 inclusive of all taxes. It covers teaching fees, all academic materials, lunches, and select dinners. The program fees does not include travel expenses, accommodation, and any associated visa fees. It also does not cover any other expenses that are not expressly mentioned above.
