Seungmin Hong (’19)
Seungmin Hong is pursuing an MFE at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, he worked for SAMIL PwC in global assurance as a manager specialized in M&A transaction and consolidated financial statement audit, covering purchase price allocation, financial due diligence, and valuations of complex financial instruments and intangible assets accompanying business combination. Seungmin, most recently, worked for PwC New York in private company service, where he, while leading audit engagement teams, advised internal control systems for customers and developed business opportunities as a Korean business desk member.
Seungmin graduated from Seoul National University in 2011 with a B.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a B.B.A. in Business Administration, where he led Intramural Golf Team and volunteered as a snowboard instructor. At UCLA Anderson, he is currently serving as a Director for the Korean Business Student Association. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Korea.
Eleena Mohanty (’19)
Eleena is pursuing Master of Financial Engineering degree at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, she worked for four years in quantitative risk management and model validation at Credit Suisse and Nomura Securities, where she developed quantitative risk models for regulatory capital calculations. One of the most recent projects she worked on includes FRTB - Sensitivity based model, which is an upcoming regulation introduced by Basel committee to address the shortcoming of current Basel 2.5 market risk capital framework.
Eleena is a postgraduate in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay with a specialization in pure mathematics
Serena Peng (’19)
Serena (Tongsu) Peng is pursuing an MFE at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, Serena worked as an investment accounting analyst and interned as a multi-asset quantitative analyst, during which she built low- and mid-frequency automatic strategy for commodity futures using Python and SQL. Serena has a strong interest in derivative products with experience trading equity options. Her long-term goal is to build a quantitative strategy system and her current research interest includes event-driven factor strategy using a combination of asset classes.
Serena graduated with highest honors from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017 with a B.Sc. in Finance, a B.Sc. in Accountancy, and a minor in Philosophy. She has completed both parts of FRM program and first two levels of CFA program. Outside of the realm of quantitative investment, Serena also has a strong interest in behavioral economics and cognitive psychology.
Aniket Sharma (’19)
Aniket Sharma is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Financial Engineering from UCLA Anderson. Aniket has joined the MFE program after 6 years of work experience in financial services. He has previously worked at Deutsche Bank in their GFX business and at Nomura in their Quantitative Equity Strategy team.
Aniket graduated from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2012 with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. At UCLA Anderson, he is currently working on an industry project with Savos Investments' quantitative analytics team. He has cleared CFA Level II examination.
