Event Description

Please join us for the second installment of the In Vino Veritas series where we explore a current topic made all the more interesting with a tasting of wines from a region in Europe.

Matt Smith ('85), Executive Director of the World Rowing Federation will share some of his experiences on the precarious journey to the summer Olympic games in Tokyo. Delayed one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games are set to move forward with strict protocols. Steve Smith ('96) will interview Matt.

Once again, Mark Brownell ('02), co-founder of Eat Me Restaurants will conduct a tasting, this time with 3 amazing Spanish wines from small estates in Priorat, Montsant and Ribera del Duero. He has worked with his partners at Alfavin.ch to create a special package for this exclusive UCLA Anderson event, featuring three full bottles of wine for the special price of CHF 79; shipping is free with code. Main information about the wines can be found on the link or - for more detail - click on each individual wine on the page.

Registration for this event is free, however you must register in order to receive the zoom link.

If you would like to purchase the wines to participate in the wine tasting portion of the program, please visit this site: https://www.alfavin.ch/en/alfapack/1557-tasting-pack.html

At checkout, enter this voucher code for free delivery: FREEUCLA

While the wine tasting is not mandatory, it will certainly add to your enjoyment of the event!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • In order to ensure timely delivery, wine orders must be received by April 14
  • Shipping is limited to locations within Switzerland
  • If you do not live in Switzerland, please contact Mark Brownell for suggestions on obtaining the wines locally

This event is open to all UCLA alumni; when registering, please select "Others."
