Event Description

Join the UCLA Anderson Vancouver BC alumni chapter for a special Worldwide Welcome Weeks day of service at Quest Food Exchange to give back to our community and connect with our local alumni network.

Quest Food Exchange relies heavily on the support of volunteers in the communities that it serves. In 2015, over 1900 volunteers generously donated 27,000 hours to Quest operations! We will support their efforts by repackaging food items for Quest’s not-for-profit grocery markets. We may also work on special projects like stocking, general maintenance, letter mail outs, and product organization in the distribution center.

Please note:

  • The minimum age for volunteering is 16 years of age unless accompanied by an adult or special arrangements have been made.
  • Participation will be limited to the first 15 registrants but waitlist registration is welcome.

About Quest Food Exchange

Quest Food Exchange is a not-for-profit organization that provides dignified access to a variety of affordable and healthy foods to individuals facing food security challenges in British Columbia. Our primary objectives are to reduce hunger with dignity, build community and foster sustainability. Not open to the general public, Quest Food Exchange works in collaboration with food suppliers who donate their surplus food and community resource partners who refer their clients. Our environmentally conscious food redistribution program includes delivery trucks, distribution centres and not-for-profit grocery markets to ensure the quality surplus food we recover is allocated efficiently to those who need it. Clients are empowered to choose what suits their needs in our friendly, safe and welcoming grocery market environment.

Worldwide Welcome Weeks

Worldwide Welcome Weeks (WWW) is an annual event series presented by UCLA Anderson's Office of Alumni Relations, alumni chapters and affinity groups to officially welcome the newest class of alumni to their local UCLA Anderson Alumni Network. Supporting lifelong learning and networking, WWW events offer Anderson alumni the opportunity to go behind the scenes at organizations, engage with academic and business leaders, and participate in exclusive experiences.
