Kati Suominen is Founder and CEO of Nextrade Group, a Los Angeles-based data and analytics company that enables government agencies, multilateral development banks, and Fortune 500s to understand and solve big problems in world trade. Nextrade clients include such entities as MasterCard, eBay Inc., Google, PayPal, TradeKey, IBM, Fedex, Magento, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, Asian Development Bank Institute, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Commerce Department, International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development, AusAID, UNCTAD, Palladium Group, Brookings Institution, Peterson Institute for International Economics. Nextrade has also ideated and built five global public-private partnerships and initiatives to further trade and ecommerce development such as eTrade for All, a global multi-donor initiative to accelerate the adoption of ecommerce worldwide now championed by the United Nations, RTA Exchange, a global forum on trade agreements sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank, and Digital Standards for Trade (DST), a new institution in Singapore aimed to establish minimum standards for trade intermediaries as trade documents and processes digitize. Dr. Suominen is also Founder of Business for eTrade Development, a non-profit group of leading global companies on a mission to develop ecommerce worldwide now working with USAID in a PPP "Alliance for eTrade Development." She also serves as Adjunct Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where she founded a Digital Trade program, as Adjunct Professor at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She has published over 100 articles and 9 books on world trade with leading academic presses; her 10th Revolutionizing World Trade: How Disruptive Technologies Open Opportunities for All, will be published by Stanford University Press in 2019. She is Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
