What's Current February 2023

February 2023

Welcome to the latest edition of our monthly newsletter, What’s Current. In February, we marked Black History Month at Anderson, joining UCLA and organizations across the U.S. in the annual celebration that recognizes the complex history and significant contributions of African Americans to our society. In this edition, we share photos from our Black History Month activities, and stories about other recent Anderson events, including the FEMBA program’s innovative WinterPalooza, which brought Round 1 FEMBA admits together with alumni and current students for an evening of networking. Also this month, you’ll find stories and podcasts about several fascinating Anderson alumni, and about the latest gift to Anderson’s Riordan Programs from the programs’ dedicated co-founder, former L.A. Mayor Richard Riordan, and his wife Elizabeth. Also featured, a story about Professor Romain Wacziarg’s popular Global Immersion course on the business environment of India, where he spent part of his childhood, and a highlight video from the recent John Wooden Global Leadership Awards gala.
And following the devastating recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, we share suggestions from alumni and students from the region about how best to support those in need. In March, don’t miss our annual women’s leadership conference, Velocity, which highlights Women’s History Month at Anderson.
