UCLA Anderson’s Net Impact chapter inspires and empowers Anderson students to drive social change on campus and throughout their careers. We provide the network and opportunities for students to become purpose-oriented leaders in every sector. Through unique exposure to startups, innovative businesses and executives across sectors, Net Impact offers experiential learning opportunities in finance, consulting, marketing and other functions. Net Impact’s capstone event, Impact Week, is the largest event of its kind in the nation. Programming also includes a High Impact Tea speaker series, internship opportunities, conferences and social events. To meet the needs of our diverse membership, Net Impact partners with UCLA Anderson’s Impact@Anderson initiative, industry-specific clubs and other UCLA graduate schools, including public policy, urban planning and public health. Board Fellows

This program pairs select teams of Net Impact members with local social enterprises, nonprofits and impact-focused for-profits. Over the course of a multimonth engagement, teams participate as nonvoting board members of impact-driven organizations while completing a strategic consulting project that puts their MBA skills to use for the organization.

Net Impact National Conference

The Net Impact Conference is the premier gathering of students and professionals who are committed to making a lasting social and environmental impact now and for a lifetime. Join us in Atlanta for NI17 (October 27–28, 2017) to fast-track your own path to impact and join a movement of others passionate about changing the world.

Impact Career Night and Networking Mixer

Net Impact's fall networking mixer gives Anderson students a jumpstart on their career search, allowing them to chat informally with social and environmental impact organizations. Our winter career night offers the chance to join roundtables to speak with recruiters and alumni about various MBA opportunities in social and environmental impact fields.

Days on the Job (DOJ)

The Days on the Job program offers Anderson students the chance to experience impact organizations first hand, with a guided tour and Q&A with company leads. Previous DOJs have included visits to IDEO, Kiva, New School Venture Fund, REDF, Revolution Foods, Bridgespan, Reformation and Patagonia.

Net Impact Consulting Challenge

Real Case: Cases are current strategic challenges in marketing, operations, finance and leadership for local nonprofit organizations.
Real Client: Clients are impact organizations that participate in this event through a competitive application process.
Real Impact: Organizations receive valuable strategic recommendations to strengthen their services.

Impact Week

Impact Week is an annual conference that brings together thought leaders and founders of mission-driven businesses across a variety of industries to explore solutions to our world’s biggest challenges, share best practices and inspire social change.

The Dinners for Eight

The Dinners for Eight (D48) program allows students to get to know accomplished leaders in social and environmental impact fields while enjoying an intimate dinner. D48 hosts volunteer their time simply as an opportunity for networking and constructive dialog. Participating in dinners is a great way to establish contacts in various industries and to learn first hand about the trials, successes and challenges that accomplished leaders have experienced.

High Impact Tea Speakers Series

Together with the Impact@Anderson faculty-led initiative, Net Impact hosts prominent leaders, faculty and alumni to share their research and experiences in various areas of social and/or environmental impact through lunchtime and evening panels.

Socials

Dinners, lunches, happy hours, volunteering events and mixers with other chapters and alumni are all fantastic ways to get to know your fellow Net Impact members and brainstorm ideas on how to change the world.

Haskamp Fellowship

The Haskamp Fellowship was created in honor of Heiko Haskamp, an Anderson MBA student who was also an accomplished athlete, skilled electrical engineer and successful businessman. After his death in 1987, the fellowship was created to support students interested in using their valuable MBA skills in a nonprofit or socially or environmentally focused internship. Recipients are passionate about serving the public and nonprofit realm, but focused on using their specific business skills in order to enhance the management teams for the firms they serve. Recipients are selected from the first-year class through an application, essay and interview process overseen by the Price Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
