UCLA Anderson Net Impact has a longstanding campus presence that has recently seen exciting and accelerating growth. The club is focused on perpetuating this growth and fostering new opportunities to draw in increasingly larger portions of the student body.
UCLA Anderson Net Impact members pursue and share their diverse interests through a range of activities and events. While there is room to enhance the cohesiveness of the Net Impact community internally and with the larger UCLA Anderson student body, individual members are energetic and active in promoting and creating opportunities. There is a steady flow of emails through the UCLA Anderson Net Impact group, as members spread the word about upcoming events and career opportunities. Through this network, members have participated in events with the Sustainable Business Council of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Net Impact Professional Chapter, and other UCLA programs.
Since UCLA Anderson Net Impact members have diverse interests that cover a wide-range of industries, we have built relationships other student clubs, UCLA graduate schools, and Net Impact chapters. We regularly co-host events with student clubs, such as the Entrepreneurs Association, the Investment Finance Club, Anderson Real Estate Association, and the High Tech Business Association. Recent joint events included: Energy Forum developed in cooperation with the UCLA Sustainable Resource Center and LA Sustainable Technology; panel on affordable housing co-hosted with the School of Urban Planning; Socially Responsible Investing 101 co-hosted with the Investment Finance Club; discussion on business ethics with the Law School; and a Global Development speaker series. We also coordinate with outside networks, including a quarterly happy hour with LA-area chapters (USC Marshall, Pepperdine, CGU Drucker, and the LA & OC professional chapters). This spring, in collaboration with CalTech and UC San Diego Rady School of Business, we are hosting the Clean Innovation Conference, an event where students and professionals can expand their knowledge of the clean technology landscape, network with industry leaders, and participate in a fast-pitch business-case competition.
UCLA Anderson members also compete in national case competitions and Service Corps projects, where volunteers engage in short-term consulting projects. One of our largest events on campus is the annual Nonprofit Consulting Challenge. This event brings local nonprofit organizations to campus to partner with teams of MBA's on a short-term business problems.
