GREATER CHINA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (GCBA)

GCBA is a student-run organization at UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management. GCBA facilitates professional networking and education among UCLA Anderson students, business professionals and entrepreneurs of the Far East, connecting students to businesses based in the Greater China Region. GCBA also treasures and celebrates Chinese Cultural heritage

EVENTS

Besides the Wilbur K. Woo Greater China Business Conference, the GCBA also host a variety of other events to foster the exchange between the US and Greater China.

Days-On-the-Job in Hong Kong: The Days-On-the-Job in Hong Kong series is a major initiative for GCBA. During the month of November or December, students will travel to Hong

Kong to visit major corporations - including investment banks and other financial institutions - in an effort to gain some understanding of different job functions, various firm culture and style, and the overall working environment in Hong Kong. Company visits, panel discussions, informational interviews and alumni mixers will be arranged for participants to gather career insights and connect with the UCLA Anderson network in the Greater China region. We will also consider coordinating this event with other business schools in California to leverage interests and resources.

Dates: December each year

China Trip: The China Trip is one of the most important annual events organized by GCBA and is supported by the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). The trip provides an opportunity for students to learn about business and culture in the Greater China region. Every spring break, students participating in the trip visit major corporations, government institutions, graduate business schools and cultural sites in Beijing and Shanghai, the two major cities in the region. Students also have the opportunity to attend Chinese business-related speaker series and fulfill certain requirements that qualify for credits as part of their independent field study.

Networking Events: The GCBA also hosts networking events on regular basis.
