Biography:
Born and raised in New York, Malik attended Columbia University where he studied Film and African-American Studies. After Columbia, he did a stint as a newsreporter at New York Newsday. He later moved to advertising and was an Account Executive at Young & Rubicam. There he managed a number of accounts, successful new business pitches, and for one client, led the development and production of one Superbowl spot.

Focused on transitioning to a career in entertainment and finance, he relocated to Los Angeles and began his career at Anderson in 1998. At Anderson, he focused on these areas of interest, and between his first and second years worked in finance as a Summer Associate at Goldman Sachs. During his second year at Anderson, Malik also did two internships to gain experience -- one in Union Bank of California's Entertainment Finance Group, and the other in NBC's Financial Planning Group.

After Anderson, Malik began working at MGM where he is Director of Financial and Strategic Planning in the company's Home Entertainment Group.

Malik is married to Althea, the woman with whom he made the great leap to Los Angeles.
