Lean Product Development (LPD) workshop with Don Reinertsen--May 11, 2012
On May 11 the Easton Program offered its Lean Product Development workshop, taught again by LPD expert Don Reinertsen (see bio here).
Mr. Reinertsen provided a brief introduction to the key methods of this important new approach to product development. LPD extends the logical principles of lean manufacturing into the domain of product development. Since product development is inherently a cross-functional activity, these new methods have implications for managers in all functional areas. These methods have produced 5 to 10 times improvements in key process areas, even for mature businesses. They probably represent the most fundamental and most important shift in product development thinking in the last 50 years.
