Tad Rivelle of TCW Delivers UCLA Anderson MFE Commencement Address
UCLA Anderson Prof. Levon Goukasian was selected by the MFE Class of 2016
LOS ANGELES, December 08, 2016 – UCLA Anderson School of Management announced that Tad Rivelle, Group Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer – Fixed Income at TCW, will address this year’s Master of Financial Engineering (MFE) graduates. A total of 64 students will graduate at the 2016 MFE commencement ceremony, which takes place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, in Korn Convocation Hall.
UCLA Anderson Prof. Levon Goukasian was selected by the MFE Class of 2016 to receive the MFE Teaching Excellence Award, which will be presented to him at the commencement ceremony.
The MFE program at UCLA Anderson prepares students for careers in risk management, asset management, data science, derivative pricing, private equity, hedge funds and technical operation areas of corporate finance.
“The UCLA Anderson MFE is a rigorous academic endeavor that requires raw talent, discipline and persistence of effort. Our new graduates have shown they have what it takes to succeed and we are very proud of them” says Mikhail Chernov, professor and faculty director of the MFE program. “Our graduates look forward to hearing from Tad Rivelle, a UCLA Anderson MBA graduate (’90), who has decades of expertise in quantitative finance and is amongst the most accomplished investment managers to graduate from UCLA Anderson.”
Tad Rivelle is Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income, overseeing more than $160 billion in U.S. fixed income assets, including over $100 billion of U.S. fixed income mutual fund assets under the TCW Funds and MetWest Funds brands. Prior to joining TCW, Tad served as Chief Investment Officer for MetWest, an independent institutional investment manager that he cofounded. The MetWest investment team has been recognized for a number of performance related awards, including Morningstar’s Fixed Income Manager of the Year. Mr. Rivelle was also the co-director of fixed income at Hotchkis & Wiley and a portfolio manager at PIMCO. Tad holds a BS in Physics from Yale University, an MS in Applied Mathematics from University of Southern California, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
