Steve Mollencamp ('90) Runs L.A. Marathon for Japan Quake Relief
$1,857 raised so far
LOS ANGELES -- Steve Mollenkamp ('90) lives in Tokyo with his wife Harumi Ikezaki ('90) a native of Japan, and their two sons Taka and Shoh. They have been longtime friends of the school and have endowed the Harumi Ikezaki Fellowship.
A week after the earthquake, Steve flew back to Los Angeles with his sons. Harumi stayed behind to be with her parents in Western Japan -- a safe distance from the aftershocks and the nuclear plants.
In Los Angeles, Steve is raising money for Japan relief efforts and ran the L.A. Marathon in the pouring rain, wearing his Japan hat. The course ran very close to UCLA, and Steve reported feeling a surge of energy as he passed the campus. Steve finished with a time of 4:42 and has raised $1,857 so far.

Our admiration to Steve, Harumi, and all of Japan for the spirit and grace with which they are coping with extraordinary hardships after the earth quake.Contact Information
