UCLA Anderson Forecast To Examine Impending Issues Affecting California Infrastructure
The next UCLA Anderson Forecast Conference will highlight critical issues facing California’s infrastructure. The conference titled, “California Infrastructure: Are We Ready to Grow?” is presented in conjunction with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and will offer panel sessions focusing on the status of water, airports, electricity and natural gas in California.
The day-long event, held for the first time in downtown Los Angeles, will feature two keynote presentations: Stephen Baum, chairman and CEO of Sempra Energy, will offer a talk entitled “The Business of Infrastructure,” and Philip Angelides, treasurer of California, will speak on the topic of “A California Investment Policy for the 21st Century.”
Economists Edward Leamer, Tom Lieser and Chris Thornberg will present their latest economic projections on the nation, California and Los Angeles. In addition, a special presentation will be offered by Brent Haydamack, manager of the California Infrastructure Project, which will uncover the relationship between infrastructure, economic growth, and development in the state.
