Susan Wojcicki (‘98) Taking the Helm at YouTube
Susan Wojcicki (‘98) On February 4, Susan Wojcicki (‘98) was named CEO of YouTube. A longtime Google employee, the former SVP of Advertising and Commerce has overseen product management of AdSense, AdWords, DoubleClick and Google Analytics. She is now tasked with driving growth for the Internet’s #1 video site, which generated $5.6 billion last year in ad revenue. Malik Ducard (‘00) Helping Content Creators Tell Stories on YouTube
Malik Ducard (‘00)

Entertainment executive Malik Ducard (‘00) is utilizing his studio experience at Paramount, Lionsgate, and MGM to build impressions and viewership on YouTube’s billion-user platform. His position as Director of Content Partnerships at Google provides Malik the opportunity to explore the vast world of digital content, with the goal of bringing that content on board. Whether the content comes from multi-billion dollar studios, or next generation producers, Malik is eager and willing to make that connection, with the goal of adding to the 6 billion hours of video watched on YouTube every month. Serial Entrepreneur Martine Rothblatt (‘81) Offers Perspectives on Entrepreneurship and the Future
Martine Rothblatt (‘81) Dr. Martine Rothblatt (J.D./MBA ’81) joined Dean Judy Olian on January 27 to share her inspiring experience turning her MBA field-study project into satellite company PanAmSat, then going on to launch Sirius Satellite Radio and biotechnology company United Therapeutic, both billion dollar companies. A serial entrepreneur whose career pursuits have largely been driven by deeply personal passions, she advised entrepreneurs to “always be open-minded“ but “practical,” and emphasized the importance of having a burning passion for what you do. She also discussed her work in the area of robotics that focuses on cyber-consciousness and the practical implications it may have for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. More...
