Business School Rankings

On  March 12, US News & World Report released the annual business school rankings.  UCLA Anderson's Full-Time MBA program is ranked 14, up one spot from last year. The Fully-Employed MBA (FEMBA) program is ranked 5, as it was in 2012; and the Executive MBA (EMBA) program is ranked 7, down one spot from last year.  The Financial Times also recently released rankings: among U.S. schools, the MBA program ranked 13, up two from 2012.The reports use various metrics that include peer and recruiter perceptions, selectivity metrics , and graduating class employment and compensation rates.  For the Dean’s announcement read more...

2013 Alumni Awards Announced

John E Anderson Distinguished Alumni Award: Bob Beyer (MBA ’83), Chair, Chaparal Investments, LLC

In an unprecedented move, the Selections Committee found two alumni equally deserving of the Outstanding Alumni Service Award for their heroic contributions to UCLA Anderson:

Outstanding Alumni Service Award: Christopher “Kit” Jennings (MBA ’80), Managing Director, Roth Capital Partners & Constantine Malaxos (MBA ’96), Director, North American Commercial Sales, Lumeta.

The three recipients will be honored at Alumni Weekend on Friday, May 17. Thank you to all that contributed to this process, and congratulations to Constantine, Kit, and Bob!

James Kao (‘87) : A Green Entrepreneur

James Kao ‘87, CEO and founder of Green Citizen, Inc., is a man on a mission. His company targets the 2.4 million tons of electronic waste that hits US landfills each year. To date his operation has diverted over 12 million pounds of e-waste.

From a young age, James knew he wanted to be an entrepreneur. "The two years at UCLA Anderson were the best learning experience. I was like a kid in a candy store. Every course I took was relevant to the companies that I would eventually found. I learned so much from my professors, my classmates and the team projects." Read more...

Pallavi Patil ('13): A Pioneering Taste Algorithm

Love the taste of that Merlot you tried recently but not quite sure how to find similar wines?  Pallavi Patil (’13) is the founder and creator of wine e-commerce startup, VineLust.com -- an online company that tracks your choices and finds similar wines to suit your taste. "I started developing this idea during my first year at Anderson and during my second year was fortunate to have four classmates with varied backgrounds working with me on VineLust for our capstone AMR project. They have helped with everything from marketing, operations and product development. We have also had significant help from the Alumni network, who have connected us to relevant industry professionals and participated in focus groups to vet our Algorithm.
