UCLA Anderson's Full-Time MBA Program Moves to Self-Supporting Model

University of California President Mark G. Yudof has approved a proposal by the UCLA Anderson School of Management to convert its full-time, state-supported M.B.A. program to self-supporting status. “UCLA Anderson is well positioned for the future, and this change further enables us to address MBA student and program needs,” said Judy Olian, dean of UCLA Anderson. “We also believe that our alumni and friends will be energized by the clarity of the school's financial model, and its singular dependence on self-generated funding and philanthropy.” More...

Florist Seeded to Cater to New Generation

 

CEO and co-founder John Tabis (‘06) believes there's an opening for a modern online flower delivery service that caters to the new generation of consumers. TheBouqs.com ships premium, super fresh flowers directly from the farm to the consumer’s door for a flat rate of $40. The Los Angeles-based startup has recently raised $1.1 million in seed funding that it will use to expand its company and to challenge the well-established online flower delivery industry. More...

International Business Conference

 

On June 29, 2013, sixty alumni spanning six decades gathered at the Goldman Sachs Headquarters on Fleet Street in London for UCLA Anderson’s 2013 International Conference. Attendees included chapter leaders and alumni from the UK, France, Spain and Switzerland. They enjoyed panel discussions and presentations by fellow alumni and UCLA Anderson faculty who covered topics that included the European economy, the state of the financial markets, and changes and opportunities in private equity markets. Assets Digital Receives Praise

Assets Digital, our interactive alumni magazine, is making a name for itself in the electronic-publishing and social-media worlds. The website Social Media Today featured the app on its survey of How 10 Savvy Colleges Are Using Social Media. In a recent blog, Adobe also featured the app for its innovative use of Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite. “With three primary groups of focus: prospective students, alumni, and prospective employers, the app provides opportunities to get creative and think outside of the box,” writes the Adobe team.
