A Visionary Leader 

Kimberly Freeman ('02) was honored in December at the Southern California Visionaries annual Awards luncheon, which recognizes leaders who are inspiring positive change. Kim is pictured here (far left) at the awards luncheon with Linda Baldwin, Anders Yang and Nike Irvin (‘89).

As Director of Community Relations at Southern California Gas Company, Kim oversees a $4.7 million charitable giving budget. All told, she has seen philanthropy help battered women shelters remain open, fund organizations for Los Angeles’ inner-city youth, and through her own efforts she has attracted talented executives of color to UCLA Anderson’s MBA program. “I have the tools now to understand and motivate people: Anderson made me a leader” says Kim. 100 Years of Girl Scouting

 

Joel FriedLise L. Luttgens, (CERT ’91), CEO of the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, was named a "Community Champion" by PBS SoCal and is featured in a PSA on the public television network throughout the month of January, heralding her work leading local Girl Scout councils. Lise has over 30 years of experience leading and working with leaders in health care and non profit organizations, with a special interest in youth development and child health. Of the organization’s mission, she says: "As Girl Scouts just culminated its 100th anniversary year, we are even more motivated to transform the leadership landscape by reinvigorating our mission to builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place." Global Immersion Program

April 28 - May 5, 2013:
The Center for Global Management (CGM) will be offering a one week global immersion program to UCLA Anderson alumni. This program will feature class sessions at UCLA Anderson with our own faculty, plus a one-week travel study component that includes lectures, company site visits, business and/or government speakers, and cultural tours. A global immersion program for alumni provides the ideal vehicle for lifelong learning, meeting one of the key objectives of Anderson 2016 to develop alumni for life, wherever they are in the world. Anderson Distinguished Alumni Award and the Outstanding Alumni Award. Each year, the presentation of these awards are a highlight of the Alumni Weekend Conference which will take place May 17, 2013. Rose III is learning the lessons of leadership and many aspects of working in the private sector while studying for his executive MBA.
