Other Information

Whether you aspire to be a practitioner or an academician, journals serve as a valuable source of information in your professional life. Although not as timely as conferences, journal articles provide in-depth analysis of problems that have been solved successfully (there is no reason to re-invent the wheel) as well as problems that are still under development. Also, reading journal articles, you can run your own effective, tailor-made post-graduate education.

An overview of INFORMS publications can be found on the INFORMS Publication Home Page.

Many other organizations also publish OR/MS journals.

See Michael Trick's compendium of journals.

Magazines often cover current topics in a fashion that is understandable for lay people. Magazines can be general in nature, like Fortune, the Economist, or they may focus on a specific field of interest. Below is a tiny sample of what is available on-line.
