Participation in conferences is an excellent way to stay up to date in your profession and to acquire new skills. At a conference, you can:
  • Acquire new skills by attending tutorials and sessions.
  • Inform yourself of the latest developments in your discipline by attending a track or a session related to your work.
  • Establish new, useful connections by mixing with people during coffee breaks, lunches, dinners, and other social events during the conference.
  • Share your knowledge with other professionals and researchers by presenting your work or organizing a session.

INFORMS organizes several conferences every year, including the semi-annual national meetings, regular international meetings, and many specialized conferences.  For an overview of upcoming conferences, visit the IOL Conference Homepage

Also, many conferences are organized by other societies (see this compendium).

The Student Union Professional Development Center, previously superintended by Joakim Kalvenes, Mohan Sodhi and Eric Cardenas, is currently maintained by Deming Zhou <dzhou74@yahoo.com>.
