Tara Tuckwiller has been a reporter for The Charleston Gazette for nearly 10 years. She has won national awards for coverage of race, poverty and gay and lesbian issues.

Tuckwiller and her husband, fellow journalist Rob Byers, are also award-winning food writers. Tuckwiller is a Virginia Tech graduate and a native of Clintonville, W.Va.
