Steve Eder

Steve Eder, 23, is a general assignments reporter with The Blade. He came to the newspaper in 2004 after graduating from Michigan State University. Before joining The Blade, he completed internships with a number of newspapers, including the Boston Globe, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Detroit News, and he worked for his college newspaper, The State News. In 2003 and 2005, Mr. Eder was named Michigan’s college journalist of the year. As a member of The Blade’s investigative team that exposed Ohio’s rare coin investment scandal, Mr. Eder and his colleagues received several national honors, including being named finalists for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for public service and The Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, and the winners of the print grand prize and the investigative reporting category of the National Headliner Awards.
