Steve Bailey has spent most of his 28 years at the Boston Globe in the Business Department as a columnist, reporter and editor.

For the last seven years, Bailey has written the twice-a-week Downtown column, a broadly-defined, general-interest business column. He previously co-authored Boston Capital, a Heard-on-the-Street-style investment column, for 3 years and covered the investment industry before that. Bailey spent five years as the Boston Globe's business editor and was an assistant business editor for seven years. He previously worked as a reporter and editor at several newspapers in South Carolina.
