Stephanie Desmon, a statewide correspondent on the Maryland desk, joined The (Baltimore) Sun in 2000. This past year, while covering politics and elections, she was co-author of two projects - one on the changes in the industry that puts crab cakes on the table and the other on the influx of immigrants from China despite that country's economic boom. Before coming to The Sun, she was a reporter at The Palm Beach Post, The Florida Times-Union and the now-closed Birmingham Post-Herald. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
