Simon Clark

Simon Clark, a Bloomberg News reporter, writes features on banks, private equity firms and other financial companies in Europe. Clark, a graduate of the U.K.'s University of Reading and the London School of Economics & Political Science, has been with Bloomberg News in London since 2000. From 2005 to 2008, Clark traveled widely as a senior writer for Bloomberg Markets magazine. In Afghanistan, he interviewed President Hamid Karzai about his plan to eradicate opium production and create a legitimate economy. In Congo, he interviewed children laboring in copper and cobalt mines to supply Chinese companies. In Dubai, he reported on the wide disparities of wealth and rights between immigrant laborers and foreign executives in the city's finance industry. In Israel, he reported on the efforts of some Israeli and Palestinian executives to do business together. He also covered stories on the European credit crunch, renewable energy technologies such as solar power, and on industries from steel to oil. Clark is married with two children.
