Sam Grobart joined The Times in 2008 as assistant technology editor and edits The Times's "Personal Tech" section and NYTimes.com's Gadgetwise blog (www.nytimes.com/gadgetwise ). His primary focus is on personal technology (which is a fancier way to say "gadgets"). In addition to staying on top of new products, Mr. Grobart is mainly interested in helping consumers make smarter decisions about the technology they buy and use. Mr. Grobart frequently appears on ABC News's Tech Bytes segment, where he discusses gadgets reviewed by The Times.
Before joining The Times in 2008, Mr. Grobart was an editor at a number of publications including The Wall Street Journal, Money, Esquire and New York Magazine.
He graduated with a degree in history from Kenyon College.
