Robin Sidel covers the banking and credit-card industries for the Money & Investing section of The Wall Street Journal. She joined the paper in March 2001 and is based in New York.

 Ms. Sidel began her journalism career in 1986 as a staff writer for the Courier News in Bridgewater, N.J. She was a New York based correspondent for Reuters from 1989 to early 2001.

 A New Jersey native, Ms. Sidel earned a bachelor's degree from Douglass College of Rutgers University
