Pui-Wing Tam is a San Francisco-based staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal. She reports to Steve Yoder.
Ms. Tam joined Dow Jones & Company in 1995 as a staff reporter for The Asian Wall Street Journal, and subsequently joined the staff of The Wall Street Journal in 1998. Before joining Dow Jones, Ms. Tam interned at the Economist and at New York Newsday in 1994.
In 1998, Ms. Tam was part of a team of Journal reporters that won an Overseas Press Club Award in 1998 for its coverage of Asian financial crisis, and won the TJFR 30 under 30 in 1998 and 1999.
Born in Hong Kong, Ms. Tam received a bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Oxford University, and a master’s degree from Columbia University. She currently resides in Piedmont, Calif., with her husband, Stephen Eng, and their daughter, Sophie.
