Philip Brasher is a correspondent in Washington, D.C., for The Des Moines Register, covering food, agriculture, trade and renewable energy policy. He also writes a Sunday column on food and agriculture issues that is distributed to Gannett newspapers nationwide. He joined the Register in 2002 after 20 years with The Associated Press, where he covered food and agriculture policy in Washington. He is a member of the North American Agricultural Journalists. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
