Patricia Shevlin has been executive producer, CBS Evening News Weekend Editions, since January 2000. She oversees the CBS Evening News on Saturday and the CBS Evening News with John Roberts on Sunday.
Shevlin had been senior producer for the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather since January 1995. In that position, she oversaw both the foreign and medical beats. She was a producer for that broadcast (1992-95) after a stint as senior producer for CBS This Morning (1991-92). Prior to that, she had been a producer on the CBS Evening News (1989-91).
Shevlin joined the CBS Morning News in 1982 and held a variety of positions there, including broadcast producer. Previously, she had been associate producer for several CBS News broadcasts, including In the News (1975-82). She joined CBS News in 1973.
Shevlin received seven Emmy Awards for her work on the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, including her coverage of the crash of TWA Flight 800.
Shevlin, a native of Cleveland, was graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in art history. She is married to Ted Holmes, a long-time producer for CBS News. They live in New York with their two children.
