Nanette Byrnes

Nanette Byrnes is associate editor for BusinessWeek, a position she assumed in September 2001. She is responsible for writing profiles about companies, their competitive strategies and management issues for BusinessWeek. Prior to this position, Ms. Byrnes was Corporations department editor.
Ms. Byrnes joined BusinessWeek from Smart Money Magazine, where she was a staff reporter covering personal business and consumer affairs. Prior to that she was the finance correspondent for BusinessWeek in the Los Angeles bureau, and a staff writer and reporter with Financial World Magazine.

Most recently, Ms. Byrnes has contributed to articles on the Enron scandal and Tyco, as well as the SEC fight with the accounting profession in 2000. She has made numerous television and radio appearances, including interviews with CNN and CNBC. In 1999, Ms. Byrnes was presented with the Deadline Club Award for Excellence in Business Reporting.

Ms. Byrnes holds a BA in creative writing from the Johns Hopkins University.
