Mike McAndrew is a general assignment reporter for The Post-Standard in
Syracuse, NY. He has worked for the paper since 1983, covering a variety of beats, including crime, courts, Native Americans and ice hockey. In 2004 and 2005, he and reporter Michelle Breidenbach teamed up with projects editor John Lammers to produce a series of stories about New York State public authorities. Their stories have won awards from the Association of Capitol Reporters & Editors, the New York State Associated Press Association and the New York Newspaper Publishers Association. McAndrew graduated in 1981 from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA. and worked for two years for The Pottsville Republican in Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Joelle, and their three sons live in Syracuse.
