Michael Gavshon

Michael Gavshon has been a producer at CBS News for nearly 25 years. Born in South Africa, he began his career with the new agency Visnews and the BBC, covering some of the most violent years of apartheid government.  In 1985 he joined CBS News and headed up their operation in South Africa during successive States of Emergency.  In 1989 he moved to London and covered the collapse of the former Soviet Union, the first Intifada in the Middle East and the release of Nelson Mandela.  Since joining 60 Minutes in 1992 he has produced over 70 segments, from all parts of the globe.  He has won many prestigious awards for his work, including 7 Emmy Awards.  Gavshon currently lives in London with his wife and two children.
