Lynn Horsley has been the City Hall reporter for The Kansas City Star for nearly 10 years, covering all aspects of municipal government and city politics. Prior to that time she covered the Kansas City School District and one of the nation's largest desegregation efforts. For that work, she won several national education awards and a 1998 James K. Batten Knight Ridder Excellence Award.

She has a bachelor's degree in history from Yale University.
