Kerry Hall covers commercial real estate and development for The Charlotte Observer. She earned her master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California at San Diego. During her career, she has written about changes within the tobacco industry, mortgage fraud, the economy and the devastation that poor nursing home care brought upon families. Her work has been recognized by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the National Press Club and the N.C. Press Association.
