Jon D. Markman

Jon D. Markman is senior investment strategist and portfolio manager at Pinnacle Investment Advisors and a columnist at CNBC on MSN Money. From 1997 to 2002, he was managing editor of CNBC on MSN Money. From 1982 to 1997, he was an editor, reporter and investments columnist at the Los Angeles Times; he was a news editor on staffs that won Pulitzer Prizes for spot-news reporting in 1992 and 1994. A graduate of  Duke University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Markman is author of the best-selling "Online Investing" (1999) and "Swing Trading" (2003). He received Sigma Delta Chi/Society of Professional Journalists national and regional awards for his 2001 reporting on Enron and the Sept. 11 terror attacks, and is the co-inventor on two investment software patents. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two children.
