Franz Wild is a freelance reporter based in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has been the Bloomberg News correspondent in the country since January 2007, focusing mainly on the highs and lows of Congo's mining sector and the continuing conflict in the east. Wild graduated from Durham University in the United Kingdom, before getting involved in journalism. After several months as a freelance radio reporter based in London, he moved to the Ivory Coast in 2006. Wild has also reported from Zimbabwe, where he grew up.
